Owen Mulligan hits out at 'heartless' Mickey Harte over choice to begin unfit trio

Owen Mulligan has scrutinized a portion of the choices made by "merciless" Tyrone chief Mickey Harte in the wake of last Sunday's Ulster SFC quarter-last annihilation to Monaghan.

There was a blaze point on the hour stamp when first-half substitute Ronan O'Neill was called aground and previous Red Hand assailant Mulligan has sensitivity for his predicament.

The three-time All-Ireland champ additionally trusts Harte committed an error by beginning Colm Cavanagh, Tiernan McCann and Lee Brennan - who brought wellness worries into the amusement and were altogether substituted.

"None of them had an effect and were taken off ahead of schedule. When you're playing a quality side at this force you can't hope to convey anybody with damage.

"Unquestionably Harte knows this? It gave Monaghan that more certainty to see these chaps fall off," Mulligan revealed to Paddy Power News.

"I feel frustrated about Ronan O'Neill. We as a whole know Mickey Harte is heartless, and I know it superior to anybody. He truly couldn't care less your identity, in case you're not performing, you're off.

"Additionally, Ronan's an Omagh man and that is his home ground which would sting him significantly more.

Silly

"I thought it demonstrated an absence of regard to him truth be told. It looked silly when he tossed the gloves. Harte won't trifle with activities like that, however in the meantime he won't give it a second thought.

"It transpired in my first year at senior. You need the ground to gobble you up when it occurs before such huge numbers of individuals. I truly trust Ronan doesn't hurl the head since he's a best class player.

"The skipper and the pioneers should put the arm around the player and say, 'look, you went ahead and you were taken off, however regardless we require you'. When you're in that forward line behind a sweeping resistance and the ball's not coming in, it's a hard place to be."

Mulligan feels Tyrone were "papering over the splits" amid the group yet notwithstanding weight on Harte, he recognizes that the Red Hand supervisor "is going no place" and is "well equipped for taking the tourist detour to All-Ireland achievement".

With respect to Monaghan, Mulligan was "wild inspired" and anticipates that the Farney men will take Ulster respects, and possibly more.

"I thought Malachy O'Rourke got it spot on. His man-administration appears to be extraordinary and all that he did swung to gold.

"The entire squad seem to be behind him and have gotten tied up with what he's attempting to do," the previous Elite player said.

"Having a goalie like Rory Beggan is a gigantic favorable position. He's a distinct advantage. They're building something genuine. Take a gander at their wins against Kerry and Dublin, and now this. They'll take Ulster, who knows after that."
